The law on hearing protection
Your workplace must measure the noise level so you can choose the right ear protection.
The law says that hearing protection is required when the noise level is at least 85 dB(A).
Your employer must provide hearing protection when the noise exposure exceeds 80dB(A), if the peak values exceed 135 dB (C) or the noise is otherwise harmful or causes nuisance or discomfort.A hearing protection device must be approved and CE marked.
