Legal requirements for safety products
At OX-ON, we always comply with applicable regulations and environmental requirements.
Our team of professional safety experts take that responsibility seriously, so you don't have to worry.
EN standards
All our safety products are approved in accordance with EU Directive 89/686/EEC (i.e. the EU-wide rules on testing and approval of personal protective equipment).
Underlying this EU Directive are a number of standards that must be conformed in to the various use situations. These are referred to as EN standards. You can always see on our products which EN standards they are in conformity with.
A list of the commonest EN standards is available here.
CE marking
The different products are obviously subject to different requirements, but one common requirement is that the product must be CE-marked, and must be supplied with instructions for its use.
The CE mark shows that the product was manufactured in compliance with applicable EU legislation and that it may be sold legally in the EU, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein (EEA Agreement). Look for the CE mark, whether you are buying work gloves, suits and vests, eye protection, respiratory protection, fall protection, head protection or other safety equipment.
