Time indications for use

How long are you permitted to work with a given type of respirator?

Danish law restricts the use of filtering respirators to a maximum of three hours distributed over a full working day. The basis for this rule is to avoid water in the lungs based on condensation from the wearers breath.

If respirator use is required for more than three hours, either a motorized respirator or a compressed air respirator must be used. When using a turbo respirator, you must ensure that the content of the environment in which you work has an oxygen content of at least 17%.

In addition, you must use the right filters suitable for the task. If the oxygen content is below 17% or there are no filters to protect against a chemical, use a supplied fresh air respirator.
